I worked closely with Dinner Service NY on building out the creative direction for both their 2023 & 2024 collaboration with Orville Peck.
2023_
The root of this collaboration stemmed from the Fifth Annual Rodeo happening in Pioneertown California. The color direction inspired by a nod to the nostalgic western neutrals paired with the Orville Peck brights. The graphic direction inspired by the event - each graphic has hidden easter eggs with what makes Pioneertown, The Rodeo & Orville Peck so unique. This collection was inspired and heavily linked to his latest record ‘stampede’. Orville Peck brought in unique artists for every track in ‘Stampede’ to build a duets album. Still being inspired by Orville’s western roots and palette we wanted to build off that to provide a fresh - yet nostalgic approach in both color, material and graphic treatment. Inspired by the duet theme of OP's album, I designed his crewneck graphic to reflect this concept. By incorporating multiple colors and dynamic line rhythms, I aimed to reflect the movement and vibrancy found in his music. The three colors represent the album’s three essential elements: Orville, his duet partner, and the song itself. See below for some initial sketches on different abstract avenues we explored.
